Having a beagle as your travel buddy can maximize the fun for sure. In today’s modern world, it has become easier to travel the world with your dog. However, a travel crate is necessary for your pooch’s safety.
While the normal crate helps to keep your beagle safe in the house, a travel crate provides a safe place to your doggo while traveling.
An ideal travel crate for your beagle should be a good quality crate that can be placed in the car’s back seat or the trunk and should be airline-approved for air travel. So after ordering and personally reviewing dozens of crates, I have listed down the top 7 travel crates based on factors like size, build quality, portability, and comfort.
Petmate Ruffmaxx Outdoor Kennel (Best for Air Travel)
This crate is my personal favorite. I have had this exact one for 2 years now and used it for 3 trips. Petmate has done a fantastic job of making this high quality and super portable crate.
It is made with heavy duty-plastic and comes in various sizes. It is easy to put together and has proper ventilation. It has enough space for a beagle to rest as well as stand up.
- Strong and durable
- Convenient for Air Travels
- Made with heavy-duty plastic.
- Portable and continient.

AmazonBasics Portable Kennel (Best for short trips)
If you are looking for a lightweight and convenient way to transport your beagle, then this crate is for you. It provides amazing ventilation from all four sides.
It comes in 5 different sizes so you will have to measure your pooch and buy it accordingly. You can easily set it up or fold back within a few seconds.
It is ideal for one-day trips and short travels. I use this crate for picnics and vet visits. However, I would not suggest this crate for air-travels or long trips. One more thing to note down is that it is for beagles who are already crate trained.
- It has two doors: Top and front.
- 1 Year Amazon Basics Warranty.
- Made with PVC frame and polyester fabric.

Diggs Revol Crate (Best for Beagle Puppy)
This crate is truly portable with lots of features. It is easy to set up and fold down. It even has wheels for convenient moving. It comes with a removable tray and divider.
This crate is very innovative and makes things convenient. However, it comes in only one size: 25 x 7 x 19, which can be a little congested for adult beagles in long travels. However, it’s an ideal crate for a puppy.
- Easy to move.

- Better ventilation.
Amazon Basics Metal Crate
I know, I know, I have been adding way more AmazonBasics products in this list, but they are really good in quality and are available at a budget-friendly price.
I bought this one for my younger beagle. I was a little low on money so decided to give it a try. And I was surprised that the quality of this one was kinda similar to the one that I bought for my elder beagle. And the price was around 20% cheaper.
It comes in 6 sizes and two different types. You can either get a single door or a double door crate. I would recommend getting the double door one as it’s more convenient while traveling.
- Made of sturdy metal.
- Foldable. However, it can be a little difficult to fold it down and open it.
- Comes with a divider.
- It has a removable plastic pan.
- Comes in 6 sizes. The 24-inch one is ideal for beagles.
2Pet Dog Crate
The last but not the least, 2Pet dog crate is a portable and foldable crate with innovative design. It has strong but lightweight steel tubes which can be folded back in quite easily.
